Advance Trac with Roll Stabilty Control from Ford

Presenting Advance Trac with Roll Stability Control from Ford Motor Company.
• The system combines information from several sensors, including the steering wheel angle, lateral acceleration and yaw rate, to determine when the vehicle begins to lose directional control. So when you are a little overly zealous through the curves your vehicle will help save you from flipping. When the system senses wheel-slip or the loss of traction, it applies braking where needed to keep the vehicle tracking safely on its intended path. It is constantly checking your wheels something crazy like 60 times a second.
• Unlike competitor’s systems, the Ford-exclusive RSC system uses a second gyroscopic roll-rate sensor to accurately measure the vehicle’s roll rate. Using the roll-rate sensor, RSC can adapt the level of control to the loading conditions of the vehicle. If an unstable condition is anticipated, the system selectively applies individual brakes and modifies engine power to enhance vehicle roll resistance. Additionally, RSC uses the information from the roll-rate sensor to provide not only roll control, but enhanced side-slip control over competitors without a roll-rate sensor. This technology was launched nearly ten years ago. Ford is truly leading the way in safe SUV's. These three technologies are working together to address safe driving.

If you visit Gresham Ford on 242nd and Powell Blvd in Gresham you can see how the AdvanceTrac button on the instrument panel and how it provides the following electronic stability enhancement features for certain driving situations:
– Traction Control (TCS), which functions to help avoid drive-wheel spin and loss of traction
– Electronic Stability Control (ESC), which functions to help avoid skids or lateral slides
– Roll Stability Control (RSC), which functions to help avoid a vehicle rollover
With all this technology remember, you can't deny physics so drive safe.

Adaptive Cruise Control introduced by Ford

Presenting Adaptive Cruise Control from Ford Motor Company it provides everything conventional cruise control does — keeps a constant speed without having to work the brake or accelerator pedals — plus automatically maintains a comfortable distance from vehicles ahead. You choose from three different distance settings. It allows 3 unique Gap settings (Sporty, Normal, Comfort) — controlled through the steering wheel — to set the comfortable distance desired. It also uses advanced radar technology to scan the driving environment for slower vehicles ahead and slows the vehicle to adapt to the current traffic conditions. Once traffic clears, the system automatically returns to cruise Set speed and normal speed-control function. That's right, so when someone cuts in front of you going 10 miles less per hour the car will slow down maintaining your comfortable distance you set. When they change their mind and get out of you lane the vehicle will increase in speed and you never have to tap the brakes or reset the cruise control. How cool is that?

One way is though the Gresham Ford Tithe Back program. When a non-profit supporter gives us the opportunity to perform any service or repair work on their vehicle we will donate 10% of their bill, parts and labor, to their church, charity or non-profit of choice. We will also donate $100 for every vehicle a supporter purchases, and it doesn’t matter if it is new or used. Bess just asks that you not mention the $100 donation until after the purchase has been finalized. She would hate for anyone to think a donation was merely added in to the price.

The Ford Fiesta already is proving that it’s got the makings of a star, but now Ford’s new small car is serving as a vehicle to stardom for a few aspiring young artists. Three Fiestas are hitting the road with five young people in tow to promote Simon Fuller’s new reality show “If I Can Dream,” which follows the artists as they move to the Hollywood Hills looking for their big break.

The five artists include a musician, an actor, two actresses and a model, who will be mentored by the best in Hollywood while trying to make their dreams come true. All the while, their lives will be captured and streamed online in real-time, 24/7 on www.ificandream.com. It also will be available for TV viewers exclusively on Hulu, a Web site offering popular TV shows and movies from commercial networks.

Fiesta serves as the “sixth bedroom” of the show – it’s the artists’ primary way of transportation, and it is outfitted with three cameras so they can talk about their experiences through livestreaming.

Fiesta’s involvement with “If I Can Dream” builds on the success of the Fiesta Movement, a social media initiative that generated more than 6 million YouTube views, nearly 740,000 Flickr views and more than 3.7 million Twitter impressions.

Fiesta has it all – and more
Going on sale this summer, the all-new Ford Fiesta features an expressive, vibrant design, sharp reflexes, and a global track record that will redefine U.S. small car customers’ expectations. With 15 class-exclusive technologies and a projected best-in-class highway fuel economy of 40 mpg, Fiesta brings efficiency and convenience together in one package. Gresham Ford is excited to be accepting early orders with many extras for free when you order early.

It’s also designed to be versatile, personal and adaptable. In fact, Fiesta is expected to deliver best-in-class safety, convenience and connectivity with the segment-exclusive SYNC® voice-activated communications system, as well as an expressive color palette and available graphics.

Already more than 6,000 consumers have made reservations for the Ford Fiesta – half of them from non-Ford customers – and more than 100,000 handraisers are showing an interest in the new fuel-efficient car. Customers can begin placing their order for the new Fiesta today through Gresham Ford. You can choose the colors, equipment and options. 3.5L Eco-Boost Engine

Presenting
• Simply put, EcoBoost provides the fuel economy customers demand, with the performance they need — the power of a V8 and the economy of a V6
• Achieves the balance of power and economy through two key technologies:
– Twin turbochargers which provide power
– Direct injection which provides fuel economy and reduced emissions

Demonstrating
• Let customers feel the performance, then marvel at the fuel economy through a test-drive
• Take your customers through a situation using quick acceleration — like pulling away from a stoplight or passing another vehicle on a road. Let them feel the peak torque across a very wide engine speed range. Talk about its usable performance that’s available all the time. They won’t need to wind the engine out to get the performance out of it
• Paint a picture for customers. Have them think of the direct injection system like the mist from an atomizer bottle that you spray to keep yourself cool. EcoBoost creates a fine spray that atomizes the fuel, making it easy to ignite and burn completely

Delivering
• Inform customers that EcoBoost has been designed and tested for use without any special operating precautions. They don’t need to sit and idle before switching the engine Off. They don’t need to observe special oil-change intervals, and they don’t need special oil
• Be sure to tell your EcoBoost customers that direct-injection engines mechanically sound different than other gasoline engines. In certain environments, when standing outside the vehicle with the engine running at idle, you may notice a slight ticking sound. This is a normal operating condition for high-pressure, direct-injection fuel systems

Ford Fiesta follows the Truck of the Year

All-New Fiesta and
Transit Connect
Follow Global
Strategy
The Ford Motor Company
strategy for moving ahead
in the 21st century
can be summed up
in two words:
“One Ford.”
What Is “One Ford”?
The “One Ford” philosophy was developed
to create a more consistent and compelling
connection with customers worldwide, while
better leveraging the company’s global assets
and capabilities.
“The progress we have made in working
together to create a ‘One Ford’ global
enterprise during the past two years gives
us a unique competitive advantage in
today’s environment.” Ford President and
CEO Alan Mulally
So What Does
That Mean to the U.S.?
In simplest terms, it means this: In North America we will continue
to need and have great products specific to our market such as F-Series,
Fusion, Escape and Taurus. But what it also means is that in certain
segments where manufacturing efficiencies can be found, we will see
some of Ford Motor Company’s proven, global platforms come to the U.S.
Here are two key examples of “One Ford” at work:
The 2010 Transit Connect is designed
to meet the needs of small-business
owners with a combination of low
operating and ownership costs,
payload capacity and cargo space.
More than 600,000 Transit Connects
have been sold since 2003, in 58
countries on four continents.Fiesta, Ford’s new well-appointed
subcompact car, is creating
buzz and curiosity in a variety
of markets. This car has already
received rave reviews in Europe
and has recently entered the Asian
market. The U.S. version is slated
to arrive mid-2010.In early April, at the New York Auto Show, the first group of
Fiesta Movement “agents” was introduced to their specially
built Fiestas. This select group of 100 agents was selected from
a large pool of applicants that applied by submitting videos to
become a part of the Fiesta movement.
While at the show, some new agents were introduced to the
press. Each was on hand to talk about their impression of Fiesta
after their initial test‑drives of this exciting new, global car.
Following the New York Auto Show, other agents from around the
country took delivery of their Fiestas and, over the course of the
next several months, will take their cars on a variety of “missions,”
introducing the public to Fiesta. As part of the plan, each of their
missions will be recorded and posted to a variety of cutting-edge,
highly connected media like YouTube, Flickr and Facebook.

Designed for the specific needs of small-business owners, Transit Connect
can be customized for almost any job. Highlights include:
Purpose-Built

Fiesta Proves Itself

Fiesta has already received rave reviews in
Europe and Asia, and it’s scheduled to go
on sale in North America next summer.
Over the last several months, the
100 Fiesta Movement agents have
been spending a lot of time in their
cars out in public and online using
a variety of today’s media. What have
the agents discovered about Fiesta?
This car is ready to deliver on all fronts.
Here’s a sampling of their latest updates.

Stylish Inside and Out
Fiesta’s sleek design, attention to detail and use of
premium materials set it apart from other small cars.
It looks great with accessories too, for that
personal touch. Key features include:
• Available 4-door or
5-door configurations
• Chrome accents
• Aggressive low roofline
• New, vibrant exterior colors
• Edgy interior design that
features premium
materials throughout

Fun to Drive and Connected
With its European driving dynamics, precision
steering and lightning-fast gear changes, Fiesta

• Engineered for low noise, vibration and harshness (NVH)
• Electric power-assisted rack-and‑pinion steering for nimble,
precise response

Fiesta agent Hilary McHone put
more than 20,000 miles on her
Fiesta in the first three months
of her “missions.” Agents
Brad and Emma
took their Fiesta on
a 48-state tour …
comfortably in style.
Exterior Design
Fiesta agent Jonathan
Nafarrete photographed
Fiesta in front of some of the most creative and
colorful street art in and around Los Angeles.
Which was the work of art? It was honestly a toss-up.
Check out his video on fiestamovement.com;
select agent Jonathan N., and click on the
Style/Design mission to watch.

“Its peppy little 1.6-liter Duratec four-banger delivers
an acceptable 118 hp and 112 lb.-ft. of torque in
surprisingly smooth fashion for such a small engine,
but getting at that power is made all the more fun by
a lively five-speed manual with gears spaced just right
to keep you in the fat of the power band without
constant rowing.” — Natalie Neff, AutoWeek
Courtney Force, NHRA driver
and Fiesta Movement agent, was
impressed with the Fiesta technology
features, such as Push Button Start,
Bluetooth®(2) capability and voiceactivated
commands.
Fiesta is designed to meet safety standards
around the world. Key features include:
• Ford of Europe-developed
Intelligent Protection System
with up to seven airbags
• Frame is stiffer and lighter
than previous European model
• Up to 55 percent usage of
high-strength boron steel
Fiesta’s 118-horsepower 1.6L I-4 engine is
designed for power, fuel economy and low
emissions. It meets the demands of the
European and American markets for
well‑appointed, fuel-efficient vehicles.
Agent Seth Beck, aka “Fiestavus,”
reported average fuel economy in his
1.6L manual Fiesta of 32.1 mpg. His
best fuel economy was 38.1 mpg.
He also reported an average 275.5
miles per fill-up. Check out his stats at
fuelly.com/driver/fiestavus/fiesta.
