“It’s the Kind of Car You Want to Drive”
Drivers liked the substantial feel of the Fusion. They were impressed with how well
Fusion hugged the curves compared to Accord and Camry. The All-Wheel
Drive System made a significant difference in driving performance. Time and
again drivers agreed that the Fusion is fun to drive.
• “I think the fact that the Fusion had the AWD was a really important safety feature”

“Aces All Around on the Ford”
The Ford Fusion overwhelmingly exceeded the expectations of many of the
drivers at the Fusion Challenge. Several participants had come into the challenge
fully expecting the Accord and the Camry to perform better than the Ford
Fusion, but after driving all three, the drivers felt the Fusion definitely
outperformed the other two vehicles.
• “If you put the Ford up against the Honda and the Toyota, I would say the
Ford would be number one”
• “I didn’t have high expectations for the Fusion, and for it to come out as

D.C. ... then did it again in L.A.
Car and Driver magazine invited
drivers in the Washington D.C.
area to come out to compare
three vehicles in performance,
handling and style. Road and
Track then invited drivers in the
Los Angeles area to do the same.
On a closed course in both D.C.
and L.A., the consumers drove:
• 2007 Honda Accord EX-L V-6
• 2007 Toyota Camry XLE
• 2007 Ford Fusion SEL AWD V-6
They were asked to rate their
expectations before the drive,
and then rate the vehicles
again after.
The Result?
After the drive, the
participants rated Fusion
as the clear winner.

“I Was Impressed”
The interior styling was “a home run” with the consumers.
From the gauges and console to the contrasting stitching on the
leather-trimmed seats, Fusion’s roomy interior was a winner.
• “The interior of the Fusion was aesthetically pleasing and
had a lot of nice touches”
• “I love the Fusion’s gauges … they were clear, easy to read”
• “It felt comfortable. It was easy to get a good position
behind the wheel”

Several drivers expressed the importance of
style and remarked that the Fusion definitely

of the grille was a big hit with the participants,
and Fusion’s bold look and aggressive styling
